Hello precious gems 💎

This next chapter is deeply moving, as we continue on in: the Desire of Ages;
reading the following chapter..
22. Imprisonment and Death of John
📖 http://www.ellenwhite.info/books/ellen-g-white-book-desire-of-ages-da-22.htm

Prayers for your time with Him in His inspired writings
Happy reading!

I found reading of John in this chapter, that I myself as one merely reading of his life many years beyond his time, to even now still receive the "rebuke of sin" in "equal plainness" that was the Baptist’s mission - as Christ’s forerunner, Christ's messenger, His herald  📣
What a testament to the power of the gospel message!  #AMEN

My fave quote from the twenty-second chapter: Imprisonment and Death of John..
  📘 KJV Luke 7
25 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment?
Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
📚 John had been called to reprove the sins and excesses of his time, and his plain dress and self-denying life were in harmony with the character of his mission. Rich apparel and the luxuries of this life are not the portion of God’s servants, but of those who live “in kings’ courts,” the rulers of this world, to whom pertain its power and its riches. Jesus wished to direct attention to the contrast between the clothing of John, and that worn by the priests and rulers. These officials arrayed themselves in rich robes and costly ornaments. They loved display, and hoped to dazzle the people, and thus command greater consideration. They were more anxious to gain the admiration of men than to obtain the purity of heart which would win the approval of God.Thus they revealed that their allegiance was not given to God, but to the kingdom of this world. DA 218.5

Blessings, Lani.

Wow what a chapter is this one & what an example he was & still is to God's people !!
Herod himself knew that he was just & holy.
John stood firm to principle, should we not do the same? 🤔
Page222 "Herod waited in vain to be released from his oath;........ They need to have full command of their physical, mental, & moral powers, that they may posses vigor of intellect, & a high sense of justice."
That is our temperance message - how often today do people who have killed, maimed & hurt others put the blame on alcohol & not themselves!! Well these paragraphs lays the blame wholly on themselves - thank you Lord for cementing in my mind the principle here on why we are taught not to have anything to do with strong drink. Amen 🙏🏼
Love pages 222,223,224 & 225!!
And of all the gifts that Heaven can bestow upon men, fellowship with Christ in His sufferings is the most weighty trust and the highest honour. Amen.
Who can write such words unless they are guided by the Holy Spirit - thank you Lord for your prophet you gave us Sis. White 😇
May you have a blessed day 😃💕

Amen thank you 😊
What a Mighty God we serve & how Satan takes great delight in attacking Christ by hurting His children as he knows it pierces Christ's heart ❤

    the Desire of Ages

After the Bible, this book has been the most important book to getting close to Christ. You will absolutely get chills reading this book on the life of Christ, and you WILL have a deeper relationship with our Saviour!
A curator for religious books at the Library of Congress says that this is the best portrayal of the life of Jesus he has ever come across.
The Desire of Ages is recommended also by Pr Doug Batchelor for those who want to know more about Jesus and find salvation 💝
