Think On Heavenly Things

These are they which came out of great tribulation,
and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

KJV Revelation 7:14. OFC 339.4
John, while in vision, saw a company clothed in white robes.... They were seen in the temple of God. This will be the result for all who will lay hold of the merits of Christ and wash their robes in His blood. Every provision has been made so that we can sit with Christ upon His throne, but the condition is that we be in harmony with the law of God.... OFC 339.5

We cannot afford to lose heaven. We ought to have our conversation on heavenly things. There there is no death nor pain. Why are we so reluctant to talk of these things? Why do we dwell upon earthly things? The apostle exhorts us to have our conversation in heaven. “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20).... Christ will soon return to gather those who are prepared, and take them to this glorious place. “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Hebrews 9:28). OFC 339.6

Do we love to think of this event or do we want to put it off? ... The more we talk of Jesus, the more we shall reflect His divine image. By beholding we become transformed. We need to bring Christ into our religious experience. When you assemble together, let the conversation be on Christ and His salvation.... The more we talk of Jesus the more of His matchless charms we shall behold. OFC 340.1

Those who take no pleasure in thinking and talking of God in this life, will not enjoy the life that is to come, where God is ever present, dwelling among His people. But those who love to think of God will be in their element, breathing in the atmosphere of heaven. Those who on earth love the thought of heaven will be happy in its holy associations and pleasures.... “And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads” (Revelation 22:3, 4). I am learning how much I let the world influence my life. Romantic comedies were my jam - typical female... *rolls eyes*. I have come to realise how obsessed I was in getting married, having children (although that's always been a controversial thought in my mind - the cuteness does not last...), having a career, being a boss of my own business, and so on and so forth. Simply boiled down, "Let's not have time for God, we're too busy for that".

The more we spend time with God, the more we are fashioned after him.

Isaiah 64:8 - But now, O LORD, thou [art] our father; we [are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all [are] the work of thy hand.

I'm literally a piece of clay. So I'm dust and Jesus provides me with living water and boom, clay. Then we choose to let God sharpen us into the prettiest/ most handsome earthen vessels - ready to be fired in the oven of truth and painted with love.

Do we except that, though, that we are mere clay?

Isaiah 45:9 - Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! [Let] the potsherd [strive] with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

Nope. We rebel. It's throughout the history outlined in the Bible. Such children we are!

Satan wants us to be too busy for God. Making man's traditions of higher importance and value. Marriage, children, job. Okay, to be honest an income is a good thing. However, Jesus didn't have one (don't quote me on that, I was distracted by the parables of wisdom and his miracles - it doesn't seem he had a job though), he knew God would provide for all his needs, he had no where to rest his head and just trusted in God.

Matthew 8:20 - And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

If Jesus is our ultimate example in ALL things. Why waste breath and time on earthly things. Why not seek earnestly after God who provides for all of our needs? Let's talk about it! Let's find opportunities where God can be in our work! Work doesn't have to be stressful, it can be rewarding with a spiritual reward!

Philippians 4:19 - But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Heaven is going to be wonderful. The Garden of Eden except more awesome! No sin, no tears, no divorce papers, no depression, no anxiety, no chocolate, no one to argue with about there being no God and there isn't such a thing as heaven. Just unity, peace, love, joy and all the good stuff. :)
